Meanwhile, in Springfield... thinking about surveillance, scanning, tracking, searching. Making a quintet with MSU students for the Spring Dance Concert (May 1st to 4th). Some of the movement might reappear in the duet at Dance Base, although the surveillance etc will be represented in different ways. The duet will use mini-cams in an "effect-free" studio; the quintet will work with LED lights on their bodies, and in a hazy environment (created by Mike Foster). Am trying to sort out for myself the meanings/metaphors in the two pieces, how they overlap and/or contradict each other...
